About Asean Foundation

ABOUTThe ASEAN Foundation is an ASEAN body dedicated to strengthening connections among the people of Southeast Asia. It was established by ASEAN leaders during the ASEAN 30th Anniversary Commemorative Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 15 December 1997, in response to the need for greater shared prosperity, regional awareness, and people-to-people engagement. Guided by its vision of building a cohesive and prosperous ASEAN Community, the Foundation promotes ASEAN identity, interaction, and inclusive development. It creates opportunities for people to learn, collaborate, and contribute to the region through programmes spanning education, arts and culture, media, community building, environmental action, and business engagement. By working with governments, civil society, educational institutions, the private sector, and local communities, the ASEAN Foundation connects people across the region and helps them develop the skills, networks, and opportunities needed to create lasting impact. Learn more at aseanfoundation.org.
