Ikanesia

Ikanesia develops sustainable animal feed by upcycling waste from fish, shrimp, and agricultural sources, combined with insect-based protein and microalgae. Our affordable, high-nutrition products help smallholder aquaculture farmers reduce production costs while improving fish quality and growth.

We also use bioremediation to restore degraded mining land, turning environmental challenges into farming opportunities. Through partnerships with women’s groups, local governments, and research institutions, Ikanesia builds inclusive ecosystems that support food security, rural entrepreneurship, and climate resilience.

Currently active in Bekasi and Belitung, we aim to scale our model across Southeast Asia’s blue and green economies.

Ikanesia offers sustainable aquaculture solutions by transforming organic waste into high-quality, affordable animal feed. We produce eco-friendly fish feed using a blend of fishery waste, agricultural residues, and insect protein derived from insect meal. This feed is designed to reduce costs for smallholder fish farmers by up to 30%, while improving fish growth and nutrition.

Our feed innovation is coupled with bioremediation services, where we utilize microalgae (Chlorella and Spirulina) to rehabilitate abandoned tin mining ponds and restore water quality. These restored ponds are then used for integrated fish farming, particularly tilapia and milkfish, increasing land productivity and promoting ecological recovery.

Operating in both coastal (Belitung) and peri-urban (Bekasi) areas, Ikanesia works closely with local governments, researchers, and private sector partners. Our model not only strengthens food systems and reduces environmental waste, but also addresses stunting and unemployment by creating green jobs and affordable nutrition sources.
